In
recent years his medium has been enamel paint on panel because
of the strength and intensity of colour, which add to the contrast
of tone, light and perspective in the paintings. His favourite
subject matter is the English countryside and he has a specific
passion for trees, although he does accept other commissions.
Rather
than participate in conventional exhibitions, Bob's gallery
is the John's Cross Inn, a historic country inn that Bob and
his wife Sandie purchased in 1992, and run by Sandie.
The
Inn which was built in 1511, exhibits numerous landscapes in
a living, vibrant environment, has thousands of visitors every
year.
Bob
is the great grandson of the renowned artist Alexander Handcock
(1853-1930).
